Hello InfraGard Pittsburgh and West Virginia Members,

Please see the below event coming to Fairmont, WV on January 25, 2017. This is the first time both chapters are coming together to host a joint meeting for our memberships, and we will be seeing the newest FBI movie and having some great discussions to help secure your work place. You are welcome to share this event invitation with your colleagues and others for whom it is appropriate.

If you have not yet checked it out, log into the InfraGard website at www.infragard.org. Please update your profiles, this helps me contact you when there is something relevant to your industry. I will not provide all industry specific information to those who do not tell me where they work. I must make sure information is provided to only those with a need to know. If you have issues with the website, please report them. I am also interested in your feedback on the website. If you have not logged into either the old version of the website or the new version of the website, your account may be rescinded in January. At your earliest convenience, log in to make sure your account still works. If you have problems, contact the Help Desk at 877-861-6298.

Because of the launch of the new website you may have noticed emails coming from the email address: infragardteam@ignconnect.org. This is a legitimate email address – it will be seen whenever you receive a message through the network. This may be a message sent to all members, or a message sent locally to our chapter or just your critical infrastructure. Myself and your Board of Directors will be trying to use the secure InfraGard site to send out information more in the future, so you will be seeing this email address more.

I look forward to seeing you all at this joint event,
Michelle

A new FBI Movie has been released for private viewings! We are using this as an opportunity to look at what we need to do to defend the hard work of Americans today. The movie, "Made in America," tells the story of the formation of a powerful partnership between the FBI, a U.S. manufacturing company, and an informant willing to serve against a nuclear proliferation network. "Made in America" is based on a real investigation involving an Iranian proliferation network; however, the lessons learned are country agnostic and the "red flags" highlighted apply to all countries whose proliferation of exported, dual-use technologies could cause harm to our Nation's security. It is a short film intended to educate private industry about the illicit procurement of U.S. export controlled items. This cautionary tale shows why every company should monitor the "red flags" exposing export control violations.

Following the movie we will have two speakers, covering illicit proliferation and Insider Threats. This will all be followed by a panel on the two topics for open discussion.

This meeting will be eye opening and applicable to all within the workplace. Those who work within security (physical and cyber) and export compliance will walk away with action items they can use every day to better our local companies in this global market.

This is open to the public, and registration is required.
